Focuses on Receptive Language, which refers to the ability to discriminate, recognize and understand verbal and nonverbal communication. In addition, Expressive Language focuses on the ability to use sounds, words and gestures to communicate.
Focuses on Gross Motor skills which involve the use of small and large muscles to perform basic movements. The Gross Motor domain measures the development of large muscles such as those used in coordination, locomotion (such as the use of legs for climbing stairs).
The Fine Motor domain measures the development of small muscles used for eye-hand coordination (such as the use of hands and fingers for grasping and manipulating objects). Occupational therapist also assess sensory integration which is the processes in the brain that allow us to take information we receive from our 5 senses, organize it, and respond appropriately.
Early Intervention Service Coordinator assists families receive the services and supports needed and to ensure that the family's and child's rights are protected. This service is free to families who qualify for Early Intervention.
Are any services or supports provided by an early intervention provider to help families as they learn about their child's delays, learn how to care for their child with a disability or how to handle having a child with a disability.
